Island Health Research Month: Five Days in May 2019
May 2 - May 6
Island Health’s flagship health research month is designed to educate, inform, inspire and stimulate. Every year, we bring together researchers and students, patients and healthcare providers, decision-makers and members of the public to share ideas and spark innovation.
The 2019 edition of this event will involve two BC AHSN units: Clinical Trials BC and the BC SUPPORT Unit.
Five Days in May events are accredited for healthcare professionals seeking continuing education credits. To request a certificate, please email email@example.com.

CLINICAL RESEARCH EDUCATION SYMPOSIUM
The objective of this event is to provide regulatory updates as well as an information session on resource s available to the research community on the island. This event features Alison Orth, Unit Director of Clinical Trials BC, and Jean Smart, Regulatory Affairs and Quality Officer.

DRIVING QUALITY AND INNOVATION: CLINICAL TRIALS SHOWCASE
Hear how clinical trials conducted at Island Health have changed practice and patients’ lives, and learn about the supports available to investigators.

HEALTH RESEARCH IS A TWO-WAY STREET: PUTTING CITIZEN SCIENTISTS IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT
The future of health research depends on the public voice. This session will focus on patient and community engagement in health research, including why it matters, how to find the right fit, and how to maximize impact.

CANNABIS: REVELATIONS THROUGH RESEARCH
What do we know about cannabis and health, and where do we need more evidence? Learn how cannabis research is unfolding, and get informed about current regional, provincial and national initiatives. Join the conversation on how to move forward together.
